Of all the styles I play, House music is my greatest passion. For a long time I’ve wanted to visit the Mecca of House music – Chicago. In 2018 I did just that.
Where better to get a deeper understanding of the House scene than directly from artists involved from the very beginning right?!
Whilst in Chicago I had the incredible opportunity to meet two members of Master C & J, the legends behind Liz Torres. Some of their work I have known and enjoyed for years, for example ‘Can’t Get Enough’ and ‘No More Mind Games’.
Not only was it a real treat and education to talk about their earlier tracks, I had the honour of listening to Master C & J’s latest upcoming productions. What really struck me is their versatility of styles such as, and certainly not limited to: deep, soulful, uplifting, and progressive. House music shouldn’t be about a particular sub-genre, it’s bigger than that and this group know it! I was also fortunate to hear some of the stories behind these tracks, their meaning and how they came about.
I cannot wait to introduce these sounds to the UK. This group know how to produce great music. If House is your thing, keep Master C&J on your radar.

A word or two about Master C & J:
These guys are the bona fide ‘real deal’! Their sound is raw, groovy, hypnotic, and straight solid. I was in love with their music before I knew who they were, way back in 1985 when I was in 8th grade. Their classics stand the test of time and I have no doubt that the new music that they have cooking will be instant classics. If you are not already a fan, well I will just simply provide a quote from the fictional character of Yoda – the Jedi Master, “…you will be…”
